I'd be interested in your thoughts on the Boumediene (sp) case (the big recent habeas case). I managed to get through it, finally. It's maybe the first time in one of these big split cases where my (conservative) instincts favor the Kennedy + 4 liberals majority opinion. The detailed common law history of the writ alone makes it worth reading
(there is a footnote in Scalia's dissent that memorializes every clerk's worst nighmare)
